Kate Dodd began her career as a careers adviser wishing to work at the interface between education and industry. She was Director of the Careers Service at the University of Warwick between 2000 and 2004. During this time she was a member of the executive Board of AGCAS. Following this she was Director of Warwick’s Students’ Services; moving from there to Birmingham University as Director of Student Life.

Lord Young is Minister for Postal Affairs and Employment Relations at the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills. Previously he was Minister for Skills & Apprenticeships at the Department for Innovation, Universities and Skills.

Debra Humphris is Pro Vice Chancellor Education and Professor of Health Care Development at the University of Southampton. Prior to taking up this post in September 2008 she was Head the Health Care Innovation Unit. The focus of the Unit was to promote innovation in service design and delivery in health and social care. In this role Debra led the New Generation Project (NGP) one of the UK’s leading and largest interprofessional education developments in health & social care education and practice.

I became Deputy Vice Chancellor in August 2004. I am a Professor of Cognitive Neuropsychology. I was supported for the first years of my career by the Medical Research Council, from studentship to author of three project grants at Newcastle, Lancaster and York.

Professor Sue Law is the Director of Academic Practice and a member of the Executive Team at the Higher Education Academy. She has strategic responsibility for several key areas of the Academy’s work, including raising the status of teaching, professional recognition, student engagement, and evidence informed practice.
Serena Trowbridge
I am a PhD student at Birmingham City University, having obtained a Masters from the University of Birmingham and a BA (Hons) in English Literature and Language from King’s College London. My thesis is entitled “Christina Rossetti's Fractured Gothic” and considers the effect on the work of Rossetti of Gothic literature.
